1. The protective diaphragm is designed to protect the main lens of the scope from mechanical damage, glare and damage from bright light.
Also, the diaphragm serves as an adjustment of the degree of light transmission in the case of work in illuminated, dimly lit and unlit areas.
The diaphragm is attached to the scope with two rubber side "ears" and can be lost during operation.
